About the desk
An independent automotive publication for people who want to understand the car, not just the badge.
Rosette McCartin is an independent automotive publication. We cover the cars people actually buy, the technology that increasingly decides how they behave, and the maintenance and repair decisions that shape what ownership costs.
The site is edited as a magazine, not a press-release feed. Every review is based on time with the car. Every maintenance guide is checked against service data and, where possible, a working mechanic. Every news story names the document, regulator or company statement behind it.
What we cover
Our five sections are deliberately narrow:
- Car Reviews — road tests and long-term updates, with measured fuel economy and honest verdicts.
- Car Maintenance — the checks, fluids, brakes and service intervals that keep a car on the road.
- Car Modification — suspension, wheels and tuning, including the legal and insurance consequences.
- Electric Vehicles (EV) — charging, range, battery health and the real arithmetic of going electric.
- Automotive News — regulation, recalls, repair access and the decisions shaping the next model year.
How we work
We do not accept payment for coverage. Manufacturer press loans are disclosed in the relevant article, and they never include an agreement to publish a positive verdict. Where we use a supplier, dealer or workshop for a test, we say so.
Numbers are rounded to the precision we can defend. Fuel economy is measured at the pump, not copied from the trip computer. Range figures are stated with the weather, speed and route that produced them. Prices are indicative and vary by market.
Corrections
We get things wrong sometimes. When we do, we correct the article and add a dated note at the bottom. If a correction changes the substance of a review or safety guide, we say so clearly rather than quietly editing the text. To report an error, email [email protected] with the URL and the detail.
